Basurero was included in the program of the 23rd Night of the Court of Lausanne, originally scheduled for November 27, 2020, at the Pathe Les Galeries cinema in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Unfortunately, the said event has been canceled, in view of the regulations imposed by the Vaud Council of State as of November 3, 2020, in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown.
The organizers have unveiled a Solidarity Night instead, collaborating with eight other Swiss film festivals. Read the official press release here.
Despite this unfortunate development, we look forward to being part of the Night of the Court once again next year.
“I really want Filipinos to know what they deserve. I want Filipinos to know what other people deserve and that for me is education, having access to basic needs, having access to a home, having access to Internet, nowadays especially di ba? And we have to care about people.”
– Jericho Rosales
Our lead actor, Jericho Rosales, shared his heart and personal views in his interview with Yong Chavez, for ABS-CBN Hollywood. Echo, as he is fondly called by friends, discussed how he was familiar with the struggles faced by Bong, his character in Basurero. He intimated his humble beginnings where he took on all kinds of jobs, from being a driver, a service crew, and even working in a fish market, just to be able to provide for his family. He is grateful for the opportunity that show business has given him and hinted that he might be visiting LA early next year for a project.
