Paolo Kagaoan reviews Basurero for In the Seats

“Filipino cinema, at least the version that makes it to festivals, has a reputation of being gritty. But Basurero is a decent example of the trend of Filipino films that shows grit without having to exaggerate its textures.” – Paolo Kagaoan
Paolo Kagaoan reviews Basurero for In the Seats and likes what he sees. From noting how cast-perfect Jericho Rosales is for the main character Bong, to the production value making excellent use of the “spaces” in the film. Moreover, Kagaoan lauded Basurero for exhibiting a different kind of “grit”, compared to that of other Filipino movies running along the festival circuit.
